Faber, Will (Saabrücken, Germany 1901 – Barcelona 1987)

Will Faber

He was a self-taught artist who during his early years combined drawing and painting with being a blacksmith, until he was able to become independent and dedicate himself fully to art. In 1934 he spent the summer in Eivissa and was so fascinated by it that he stayed for two years. Drawings and watercolours of landscapes and figurative portraits from this stage are preserved. Later, his style evolved towards abstraction and was enriched by the emphasis of contrasts with a clear predilection for the colour red.
