Puget, lineage of artists
In 2020 the sixtieth anniversary of Narcís Puget Viñas’ death was commemorated. He was considered the pioneer of modern Ibizan painting; therefore, the Ethnographic Museum of Eivissa wanted to pay tribute to both his artistic work and his son’s, Narcís Puget Riquer. The exhibition, which was held in the porxo of the museum, included works belonging to the family collection of Puget Riquer’s daughters, as well as some other pieces from Isabel Tur Vilás’ private collection and from the Consell Insular of Eivissa art collection. One of the objectives of this exhibition was to highlight the photographic legacy of Narcís Puget Viñas, since photography saved his family from the economic difficulties they endured on certain times, and it was also a source of inspiration for his paintings.
