In 2017, a year after the centenary of the birth of Josep Manuel Chico Prats, the Ethnographic Museum of Ibiza wants a tribute from the artist, paying a temporary exhibition in Room B of the Museum on two of the most important aspects of the his work. On the one hand, he showed the part of his work most closely linked to his ways and the figures of his mother and his hometown; On the other hand, the figure of the Ibizan peasant woman seen by the artist. These paintings often started from the photographs he took with his inseparable side viewfinder, which seemed to take photos to another point, which allowed him to abduct subtle gestures, eyes or attitudes.
