María Catalán

She arrived in Eivissa when she was eighteen years old and began studying at the School of Arts and Crafts. The artist has been greatly influenced by her teacher, Eduard Micus, with whom she worked since 1988. In her works, black colour is clearly predominant, a colour which she spreads over old, glued paper or torn sackcloth. Her exhibitions, both solo and collective, have taken place in Germany, Paris and New York.
