Hormigo Escandell, Antonio (Sant Antoni de Portmany 1933 — 2019)
Continuing his father's profession, he trained in a self-taught manner. He worked mainly in wood carving and his style is figurative, symbolic and surreal, characterized by the precise cut of the chisel and the games of lights, which show a careful technique and mastery. The origin of his works is nature and the human figure is usually the ubiquitous form. He has held numerous exhibitions and won several awards, such as the Portmany Prize.
