Micus, Eduard (Germany 1925 – Ibiza 2000)
The artist first arrived on Eivissa in 1966; in 1972 he settled on the island permanently and in 1989 he founded Espacio Micus, one of the most important private art galleries on the island. Although his first works had a marked expressionist style, it drifted towards abstraction. Contrast is the most characteristic principle of his works: light and shadow, sky and earth, order and chaos. He has exhibited in museums and galleries, such as the Museu d'Art Contemporani of Eivissa, the Carl van der Voort Gallery or the Thomas Gallery in Munich, among others.
